What is myGoalJournal?
MyGoalJournal was developed as part of a research project at the Research Center Finance and Infor-mation Management which closely cooperates with the Project Group Business and Information Sys-tems Engineering of the Fraunhofer FIT.
MyGoalJournal is a habit tracking app. You can enter goals which you want to achieve or habits which you want to integrate into your life. This might be doing sports on a regular basis, for example. But also, goals regarding your personal growth (e. g. learning, reading), or social interactions (e. g. spend-ing time with your family) are possible. You are completely free to choose. Your inputs are then used to create a journal that displays the planned activities for each day. There, you have the possibility to mark these activities as done or not done. Thus, you always stay on top of your progress.
We would like to use the data collected by myGoalJournal to better understand how individuals set their goals, and how they work towards them. We thereby do not only take a matter-of-fact perspec-tive and analyze whether the goals were reached or not. We also consider the associated well-being. The greater objective is to determine the best way towards your goals for you as an individual and to support you with digital technologies as best as possible.

Which requirements does myGoalJournal have?
To use myGoalJournal, you need at least iOS 10. MyGoalJournal needs to access your network and WIFI status. This information will exclusively be used to preserve your mobile data allowance. Even though the size of the transmitted data is small, we prioritize uploading via WIFI and only make use of your mobile network connection after three failed attempts.

Which data does myGoalJournal collect?
MyGoalJournal records the following data:
- Opening and closing the app as well as their point of time
- Log of creating, editing and deleting goals (What was created, edited or deleted when and how?)
- Log of creating, editing and deleting the activities belonging to the goals (What was created, edited or deleted when and how?)
- Log of your progress (What was marked as done, marked as not done, added, or moved when and how?)
- Answers that you give in the included surveys
- Your email address in case you participate in our prize draw
No further data are collected, especially no sensitive data like passwords, contacts, your phone num-ber, or SMS. Data is saved on your device as long as myGoalJournal is installed.

How are the data transmitted?
The data are uploaded to the GDrive of the research project every five days.

Are my data analyzed in a personalized way?
No! We need to be able to assign data to individuals. But this is done based on an individual device ID which does not allow for identifying you personally and which we additionally encrypt.
Thus, individuals can be differentiated, but not identified by name. Your email address is only used for the prize draw and to notify you in case you won. We will delete it after the prize draw.

Are my data passed on to third parties?
The data collected by myGoalJournal are not passed on to third parties. For research purposes, data are neither analyzed in a personalized way nor passed on to third parties.
